Amsterdam is one of many countries where sexual freedom is celebrated in a unique way. The country has always been famous for its open-mindedness which considered the prosperity of the LGBT community as a crucial human right, but this change was not easy. It took years in the making and following we are going to revisit history to learn what led to it. So be patient!

History

In the late 1960s, Amsterdam went under a transition which was named as “Sexual Revolution: This movement soot outgrew secularization, democratization, and environmentalism. The attendance at Church dropped, and people soon turned away from dogmatic forms of religiousness. After the post-war baby boom, huge retention of young people reached adulthood by 1965, and they became an active part of sexually, political, cultural, and economic reforms of the country.

The story doesn’t end here; the young force also contributed to structure growth and increase the prosperity of their respective country.

The Revolution

Many initiatives were staged throughout the country. A national magazine published an ideology based on people can have sex anytime, anywhere and with whoever they want to. According to this ideology, homosexuality is the equivalent of heterosexually, and there was no concept such as adultery. Sex education will start at a young age, and straight couples who have more than two kids will be considered as a social worker.

This revolution also reinstated a woman’s status as the primordial enjoyer of pleasure. To accommodate this, several measures to prevent unwanted pregnancy by the court under the name of Sexual Freedom.

The Motivation

Europe always had a rich culture of eroticism and sensuality. This is evident from the souvenirs ancient relics with nude paintings, ornaments and what not. It won't be wrong to assume these led the foundation of an open-minded nation who didn’t want any constraints about how they want to lead their life.
