5-Ways-To-Get-Rid-Of-Migraine-Pain

Migraines can cause a lot of discomfort to the person experiencing them. They usually start with slight pain and gradually intensify reaching a point where it becomes really difficult to bear with the pain. Not just that, they could also cause other symptoms like nausea..

Stats reveal that approximately 10% of the world’s population is affected by migraines. Thus, it is always a good choice to get rid of the pain when it is of very low intensity. If you ignore it and let it build-up, you will have to go through a lot of pain before you find a solution for it. These are some ways which you should try out in order to get rid of the pain caused by migraines:

1.  Take Some Medication

If you are suffering from a severe migraine and want relief at the earliest, it is always better to take some medicine instead of trying out the above ways. Most people often opt for paracetamol as it helps in relieving pain to a great extent. However, that may not be enough in many cases.

That is why you should always keep tablets like Ibugesic Plus Tablets, Sumatripatan, Rizatriptan handy. It is a highly effective pain reliever and is made from a combination of Ibuprofen and Paracetamol. The tablet also has few side-effects but only in a handful of cases. You can consult your doctor beforehand so that you can keep a few tablets with you for whenever you have a migraine.

2. Massage With Essential Oils

There are only a few things as calming as a massage with essential oils. You should rub any essential oil you like gently on your forehead and the back of your neck for a couple of times a day. It will help you deal with your migraine in a better way.

Peppermint oil will help you deal with nausea whereas lavender oil will help you relax. You can read about how different oils will have different effects and can pick the one that you feel is the best for you to deal with your migraine.

3. Consume Ginger

Nausea is a very common symptom of a migraine. If you are experiencing this symptom, you must consume some ginger as it helps in combating nausea and you will be atleast relieved of it.

Not just that, ginger is also an effective pain reliever. You can make some ginger tea for yourself. Ginger capsules are also available in the market. With a glass of water, you can take two of the 500 mg ginger capsules and you will feel better.

4. Perform Neck Stretches

In many cases, migraines are triggered because of tension in the neck region. If you feel like you might be getting a migraine, sit up as straight as you can immediately and perform neck stretches to ease the tension in the region and prevent the migraine from intensifying.

The simplest stretch would be to sit up straight and lean your neck towards your shoulder. Trying to get your shoulder to touch your ear. Do it for both the sides a couple of times and try to stay in position for about ten seconds each time. If you are prone to migraines, it will be a good choice to make this massage a regular habit.

5. Avoid Bright Or Noisy Places

The pain from migraines can be heightened if you are in a room that is too bright or has too much noise. It is best that you go to a separate room, turn of the lights and rest for a couple of hours.

A mild migraine will be healed only with a few hours of rest. If you have already taken some medication to relieve your migraine or have done any of the other things mentioned here, you need to rest for some time to let them come into effect and reduce your pain. You can even put on some calming music to help you relax.
