After seven decades of living, it’s apparent to me that there are lots of myths floating around about aging. Indeed, aging is an inescapable body thing, but it need not affect your passion for life. When you bring alertness to your day, with the intent of savoring your experiences like a child, you will find that you are still a mischievous rascal. There’s still plenty of life to enjoy.

I have a friend who’s 95. He loves to tell me that he meets Father Time, head-on every morning, and says the same thing, “I deny that I am yours to do as you want to. It’s still my life and I plan to live it my way.”

When you make it a point to live out your elder years consciously, you quickly feel that enthusiastic child inside of you. That child is still very much alive; the only difference is that with maturity comes wisdom, so you lose the childhood innocence, but not your love for life.

Here are seven ways to remind you that no matter what your age, you can look at the world with the same eyes through which you looked as a curious and passionate child. Now that’s wise.
