Breast Cancer – The Inner Cause
By Martin Brofman

We work with the idea that everything begins in the consciousness, and that symptoms on the physical level reflect tensions in the person’s consciousness about something happening in their life at the time the symptom began, or was discovered.

Cancer represents something held in and not expressed, and the part of the body affected shows what it was that was not expressed.

We read the body as a map of the consciousness within, and the key to the map is the system of energy centers knows as chakras. Each chakra represents a particular part of the consciousness, and is also associated with particular parts of the physical body. We can thus associate symptoms in a particular part of the body with specific tensions in the consciousness.

The closest chakra to the breasts is the heart chakra, associated with relating and relationships, people close to our heart. Thus, cancer of the breast would be associated with something held in and not expressed about something that happened with someone close to the person’s heart – a partner, parent, brother or sister, son or daughter – at the time the symptom began. The person affected needs to get something off her chest – release the tensions about what happened.

Generally, the right side is seen as the Will side, so symptoms on this side represent tensions about Will – something happening different from what the p0erson wants. Symptoms on the Emotional side represent emotional reactions to what has happened. It’s as if we have two different Beings inside, and sometimes they do react differently to conditions happening in the person’s life. People who are born left-handed can have this polarity of Will and Emotions reversed.

Working with the idea that everything begins in the consciousness, when someone develops a symptom that could have death as its logical conclusion, that begins with a decision to die. Typically, the person has been facing a situation in their life that they find unacceptable, but see no way out of – in the case of breast cancer, it’s a situation with someone close to their heart. That’s what stimulates the decision to die, or just the loss of enthusiasm about going on. The deeper part of them has decided that they do not want to face life with that situation in it.

For the person’s healing, they have to not only find the way to release the symptom, they have to resolve the previously unacceptable situation in their life, find the way to resolve it so that they are again motivated to face life.
