Is maintaining a positive attitude at the top of your “will do” list today? Are you finding it more and more difficult to go to work, look for a job or encourage others? According to a leading communications strategist the negative economy and discord in government has actually changed the way we think about tomorrow and communicate with each other.

Being frugal and making smart choices is at the top of everyone’s list. We’ve moved from just talking the talk to talking it and walking it because others want to know whether you are actually committed to and doing what you say. Financial stability, responsibility and being in-control are today’s new language. We have truly hit a point in history where “everything you think, say and do matters” because that is how you create the future while living through today.

Recession Proof Your Thinking

Rather than being at the mercy of the doom and gloom in the news use Feng Shui principles to develop a positive attitude. You will be more in-control of your today while creating a better tomorrow by Feng Shuing your thinking.

FIRST: Get rid of negative thinking by uncluttering your mind. Imagine a large black balloon, then fill it with all of the negative “can’t do” and “won’t be able to” negative thoughts that come into your mind. All thoughts such as “I’ll never find a job,” “I won’t be able to pay my bills,” or “They won’t return my call” should go into the balloon. Then release the balloon into the atmosphere to be recycled into positive thinking. Then, welcome new positive thinking energy in. Instruct your subconscious mind to allow only positive thoughts in to replace the old. The only way good new thoughts can enter is to make room for them.

THEN: Create an Intentions Board (bulletin board with push pins) or a poster that reflects your short term intentions and goals. If it’s income you need to create, put large dollar signs on the board, contracts or a paycheck. If you’ve been searching for a significant other for quite some time, create the characteristics of what you’d like to see in the other person and put it on the board. Whether it is income, housing, a job or a relationship you are seeking doesn’t matter, what does matter is getting a good visual of it and keeping those objectives energized. If possible, use your computer to create a miniature version of your Board on a business card and carry it with you at all times.

NOW: Take action. You can only succeed if you have a plan and take action. If you want to build a house it isn’t enough to buy lumber, nails and a hammer. You eventually need to create a plan and then pick up the hammer piecing together the wood with the nails to create the structure. The same holds true for your future. It takes a commitment on your part and then action to achieve a successful outcome. Make your plan reasonable, responsible and one in your control.
The average person has at least twelve thousand thoughts per day according to the National Science Foundation. Taking positive mental and visual action helps to energize your thinking and replaces all the negative thoughts that race through your mind daily.

Energize Your Surroundings

Now that you’ve energized your thinking it is important to bring into alignment the energy in your surroundings to also be supportive of your goals. This is how you gain control of your surroundings and your outcome. This is the formula for creating emotional stability so you can work on financial security.

TO BEGIN: Unclutter your living environment, especially your bedroom, the kitchen and your office. Whether your clutter is stacks of magazines and papers, boxes of books or piles of clothes you never wear, sort it, organize it and put it away or “get rid of it.” Remember, clutter can hang on walls too and be magnetized to refrigerators. If there is a lot of chaos in these areas the consequences will be a less productive low energy discouraged you. You cannot energize your surroundings until you unclutter them first because when you focus energy on specific areas of your life you will energize more clutter unless it has been cleaned up and prepared for new energy to enter.

NEXT: Once you have completed the uncluttering process then energize at least the following three areas of your life.

• Energize the east area of your bedroom and office with a green plant or a picture of a lush green field or forest to focus energy on new things in your life such as income, jobs, business even relationships.
• Energize the south area of your office with something red that is upward reaching such as a red candle or a picture of mountains framed in red to great good luck energy.
• Energize the center of your home with a stone or rock that symbolizes your commitment to yourself and your desire to create a better brighter in-control future. This can actually be a rock you collect from the garden or the seashore or it can also be an item like a piece of marble, rose quartz, turquoise or onyx. It should be something you’ve selected purposefully to energize you and keep you centered on your future.

Make everyday count. Remember you are exchanging it for a day of your life. When you adopt the motto “everything you think, say and do matters” you are impacting your future because you are creating what you want by your thoughts and not being a victim of the gloom and doom attitude permeating the country. Using this results oriented outlook you can achieve whatever goal you’ve laid out before you because you and only you will be in charge.
