“A healthy outside starts from the inside,” said the American Actor Robert Urich.

After a hard, tiring and exhausting day at school, children feel too hungry and disgusted. The school Tiffin has finished long ago, the stomach feels empty and the dinner time is too far. Most mothers don’t buy their kids a pack of chips or a box of chocolates, and they often say that snacks are not at all healthy. But the fact is that meals are healthy unless the snack is a pack of crunchies, box of candies or a bunch of biscuits. Snacks play a very critical role in everyone’s life, and that is an essential part of one’s daily diet. Through the help of a recent survey, we have found out a set of snacks which are yummy and delicious, yet too healthy for the kids. The meals which your children will love to have after school and keep them healthy at the same time are as follows:

Fruit Yogurt

Most children are fond of fresh fruit, and even if your kids don’t want to have fruits, the taste of homemade fruit yogurt will make them enjoy the snack. All you can do is to take a plain yogurt or vanilla flavored and put some mandarin oranges into it along with some blueberries, strawberries, apples or anything that your kid might like to have and make a topping with dry fruits like cashew, raisin, and almond. This is a diet filled with protein and antioxidants to keep your child healthy and keep their stomach filled until dinner. A healthy snack is much better than an empty stomach.

Strawberries Covered with Dark Chocolates

This might sound little off-track as the chocolates seem unhealthy to some and another prime reason is that most kids are crazy about chocolates. After all, who would not like to have a sweet after a long school day? The cocoa beans are known for its abundant quantity of flavonoids, which acts an effective antioxidant, protecting people from environmental toxins and repairing cell damage, affecting both kids and adults. Now, mothers would not have a problem serving chocolates to their children, after all a chocolaty snack with healthy nutrients.

Fruit Kebabs

We all know about chicken kebabs or famous ribs stick, but what is more accurate and healthy for a snack is fruit kebabs. It is time you thread pieces of pineapple, papaya, mango, kiwi, orange or other fruits on a skewer for a refreshing snack for your kid after an exhausting day. Most fruits are rich in fiber, antioxidants, roughage, minerals, and vitamins. Pineapples contain high amounts of vitamin C, dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals and poly-phenolic flavonoid antioxidants, whereas papayas contain very high amount of vitamin C. Parents should let the kids do that while they just peel the skin and cut them into slices. Making this snack can be a fun activity for your child too.
