SHFM’s journey has been an interesting one.   The actual idea for it was first tossed around by a friend and I about 4 years ago.  My passion and desire was to be able to provide Life counselling for people, and his was to provide financial counselling for people.

The next 3.5 years went by, and we both did nothing.  It was about 7 months ago, that we stared to discuss it again, but we were both in long term relationships that weren’t really going any were.  Still both not really doing what we were Passionate about.

Then something happened, for us both, we decided to take control of our destination.  He started a Diploma in Finance, I started my Counselling business.  Our relationships came to an end.  And that’s were SELF HELP FOR ME  was started.

I badgered him until he started to help me flesh out the concept that was in my head, and I utlised his Computer skills.

In April 2011…  – The first version of SHFM was born

Since then we have had 4 different versions with 1 domain name change to get what you see now

After 5 short months, I now have my friend working with me on the site so there are 2 of us.  We have people from every continent visiting SHFM, we have had people submitting articles about things they feel passionate about.

Starting a vegetable patch by Tanya Jackson, also the beautiful and moving article on adoption and how it affected her life, Loved and never forgotten.

We have a growing Facebook community of 51…  (Thanks to everyone).  We get regular feedback about the site, with people interacting with each other and swapping Idea’s and opinions.

We have given away some of our favourite Self Help Product books as a thank you.

Clean & Lean Diet – James Duigan

Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill

Think and Grow Rich Property – Stuart Zadel

It is a very humbling experience to be able to provide this type of portal and have it supported by everyone.  So a big thanks to all you Self Helpers out there.

In the oncoming months, we hope to be able to focus a little more of specific topics, and provide some very useful ways of dealing with the everyday things.

We would love to hear from you, if you have a specific Topic you want us to focus on, so please Contact us or send us a quick FB message.

In the mean time, remember “Whatever you do today don’t do nothing”

We take a look back at what has been accomplished with Self help for me. We have loved the ride.

Author's Bio:

After spending years suffering from mental and physical abuse growing up, followed by years of depression and soul destroying self-doubt I took stock of my life and left a 12 hour a day, well-paying job and a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom mansion to travel the world, study Buddhist teachings and do volunteer work in Australia and Africa. I also studied counseling, life coaching and familiarized myself with many self help products.
