Looking back at last year, I am reflecting on those things that have been helpful for me to achieve success, meet and exceed my goals. I came up with the following six key areas in my life and I would love to hear from you about the things that have been most helpful for your development, personally and professionally.

1. Clarity and Uniqueness

Clarity about what I want and what I don’t want|, including being able to say no to the things I don’t want. Don’t you think being able to say no is liberating? I also discovered clarity about myself, my unique skills and talents, and what sets my business apart from others. Through the Passion Test, I have my personal and my business’s priorities identified and I make decisions based on those priorities. This allows me to stay focused and on track.

2. Goal–Achieving Actions

Actions that are goal-achieving, consistent with where I want to be and what I want to accomplish. My actions are written and I review my follow through on them and the accomplishments. Have you noticed that when you have written action steps and review them regularly you achieve your goals almost effortless? It’s like the whole universe is conspiring to help you once you put it out there and are serious about it.

3. Barriers and Self Image

"Smack...bang...ouch"...we run into barriers and perceived limits when we move forward on our journey to success. It’s astounding how easy it is to stay in the comfort zone and not move forward because of limiting beliefs and the image we have of ourselves. Isn’t it miraculous how our comfort zone expands with our willingness to stretch? “Be comfortable being uncomfortable” has become my mantra. Plus, I am grateful for access to various “clearing” techniques that I have learned to clear limiting beliefs and develop my “success image,” the image I have of myself thinking about success.

4. Healthy Mind & Healthy Body

This area is important to me – having a healthy balance focusing on my physical health and my environment has a great impact on my wellbeing and effectiveness. I choose positive environments where the energy feels good and I am able to enjoy as much of the beauty and solitude as I can. Isn’t it miraculous to look at beautiful flowers, watch wild weather or stunning sunsets, smell the freshness of nature and hear the rain drops on the roof?

5. Family and Friends

Being able to enjoy family time and friendships – talking and laughing together and feeling nurtured from knowing someone cares. This is so special, wouldn’t you agree? Many of my clients become my friends and it is such a privilege to be part of each other’s journey. We have a saying in Germany that describes it all:
“Geteilte Freude is doppelte Freude und geteiltes Leid ist halbes Leid.”
I found an English translation, it seems it is used as proverb:
“A joy that’s shared is a joy made double and a problem shared is a problem halved.”

6. Higher Purpose

Realizing that we are all a part of something bigger, we all have the ability to affect the world and we can make a difference in others lives, one person at a time. Even though we might not change politics and world peace as fast as we may hope, we can make a difference for one person at a time and that one person will affect others, keeping the effect going leading to unlimited and infinite positive changes.

Wishing you the joy of a new year, the hope, blessings and the positive energy it brings. Like a clean slate, the joy of standing on the top of a mountain looking down at the powdered slope, you are the first one to ski on it, walking out onto the fresh grass, swimming in the quiet water where only you are making the waves, or being the first one on the perfectly groomed horse arena footing knowing that your horse leaves the first mark for many more exceptional ones to follow.
