To me, God is the Supreme Being, and to say more than that would become complicated and so I refer to him as the Universal Father.

Our Universal Father did not come into my life or my awareness, since I knew from birth I had been reincarnated. I had to go through life again and realized this as I was lying in my crib, soon after coming home from the hospital. I had seen my mother for the first time lying in her hospital bed. She touched my foot and ask the nurse holding me if she really had given birth to a girl.

Mom didn’t smile because she was too weak, but she was thrilled all the same! She mumbled to the nurse about having two sons and it was time she had a girl. A couple of years later, Mom tried again hoping to get another girl, but gave birth to my younger brother, Warren. Mom didn’t want any more children after Warren, since he was born premature and nearly died.

So, it looks like I’ve gotten away from the subject about our Universal Father. Well, one may wonder if I knew about being reincarnated and having to go through life again, then I should know something about God. For me, believing in him came naturally. What became confusing was what Jesus had to do with the Universal Father? Why would I have to pray through Jesus? Couldn’t I just send a direct message to our Universal Father and bypass Jesus? These were questions I asked myself as I grew older. As for being a baby lying in a crib and knowing I would have to go through life again, certainly didn’t explain the Universal Father’s existence. All of that drew a complete blank! So, how did I know I had lived another life? I just knew! As for knowing there was a Universal Father, the Supreme God, I had my first near-death experience at the tender age of two.

I came down with double-bronchial pneumonia. At first, Mom didn’t know I was that sick. She had taken me to a local doctor and was told I had a bad chest cold. A week later, I remember lying on the couch in the living room, weak and dizzy. I was dying! I remember Father picking me up and rushing me to the hospital. The next thing I remember was being submerged in a tub of water and being held down by some nurses. I was in so much pain! I remember seeing the nurses dressed in white through the curtain of water and the next thing I was staring down at them and my body. A man stood near me dressed in robes. I could hear his voice in my head telling me I had to go back. I would have to endure the pain.

As a young child, I don’t remember all that happened when I was with these nurses. I guess they thought they had actually saved my life, but it wasn’t them. It had been our Universal Father who sent a messenger to help me.
One day it would become quite clear to me it was Jesus, who stood next to me, and told me I had to go back.
